Primary ITE Key Improvement Priorities

Priority 1. Mentoring Quality and Consistency
To strengthen the quality and consistency of mentoring across the partnership to ensure high outcomes for all groups of trainees.

Priority 2. Addressing the needs of all learners
To strengthen trainees’ ability to address the learning needs of key groups of pupils and individuals in their classes so that a higher percentage of trainees demonstrate excellent practice for TS5 and related areas.

Priority 3. Cross-phase experiences
To strengthen trainees’ understanding of transitions between phases in education and the associated subject, curriculum and pedagogical understandings so that trainees can more effectively build on prior learning and prepare pupils for their next stages of education.

Priority 4. Resilience for teaching
To strengthen our support for trainees development of resilience and management of work life balance so that a higher proportion of trainees complete within one year of entry (or final year for UG) and remain in the profession beyond 5 years of qualifying.
